The Theory of Literary Relativity
Okay brace yourself. Remember Zeno and the Static Universe, here's another of his famous paradoxes. The Stadium - Imagine two rows of people running past each other in opposite directions. An athlete in one of these two rows will pass twice as many body widths in the other row than if the other row had been stationary. Therefore has he run twice as fast? How has he covered more ground?
Zeno of course was paving the way for Einstein here and his Theory of Relativity. Our writing and its meaning is relative too. We need to think about this. Why? Cause Old Dead Beat says, and he knows best.
